„Exploring the Mother of Waters“ is a captivating documentary, in which adventure meets environmental consciousness. And there is dramatic fates, friendship and sympathy to boot. "Kong, Mother of Waters" is the Mekong Basin's moniker. The locals call it "Mae Nam Khong.“ It is one of the world's most diverse natural and cultural regions. Until this documentary was shot, it had not been mapped, traveled, or filmed. Mick O’Shea was the first man to travel the Mekong from its headwaters in Tibet to the south of China, shooting nature and the local cultures' marvels. The film also deals with the urgent issues threatening the basin's future.
