It's not impossible after all - Orlando Duque can be beaten. After winning the world championship nine times, he had to admit defeat at the hands of 25-year-old Russian Artem Sichenko after an exciting series of dives in Antalya.

After just two years of cliff diving, Artem Sichenko managed to plunge the scene into amazement and enthusiasm as early as 2006. That's when he surprised everyone by winning the world championship, having started his cliff diving career no sooner than in 2004. "It was in 2004 during a show in China. I dove from a height of 82 feet. I took it up because I love this feeling of flying, the adrenaline, and the danger," he describes his enthusiasm. Winning in Antalya helped the Russian climb to third place in the overall rankings, trailing only Orlando Duque and Englishman Gary Hunt.
