The 1960s mark the beginning of Leki’s singular success story.

Leki has been producing poles since the late 60s, driven by a family’s passion and the enthusiasm of a global workforce that numbers around 300. Karl Lenhart was an enthusiastic skier, but he was unhappy with the poles available at the time. That’s why he began developing his own poles and disks.
And so Leki turns out the best world’s best glove systems and poles for alpine and trekking use, Nordic walking and cross-country skiing.
Leki is short for Lenhart in Kirchheim. Today, the Swabian city located a half hour’s drive southeast of Stuttgart boasts a population of almost 40,000. The premises house Management, Marketing, parts of the sales organization, R&D, and the race service. Since capacity in Kirchheim had been utilized to the hilt, production was shifted to the Czech town of Tachiv.
