You've got trash on your clotheshanger? Not such a pleasant idea. But if you look behind the scene, you'll recognize innovative clothing materials and production. Patagonia makes recycled clothes to stem the tide of trash generated by consumer societies.

„PCR Synchilla“ is the promising but rather nondescript name of the new clothing line, at least at first listen. Trash fashion sounds a little condescending, but the concept really breaks new ground. The idea to stem the tide of trash generated by today's consumer societies enthused several clothing manufacturers. Sports clothing maker Patagonia carries sweaters made of a trash fiber called "PCR Synchilla." "I know," says Patagonia spokesperson Juliane Köhler, "most people's hair will stand on end when they just think about polyester," but "the demand for our products has exceeded all of our expectations." Lightweight, warm and water-repellent, the fabric is soft and cuddly and snuggles against your skin.
