Endless mountain ranges and a brutal ocean - that's the first impression the three skiing professionals Drew Stecklein, Jeff Annetts, and Derek Foose get of Iceland. Iceland in winter means a contrast between fire and ice, volcanoes and glaciers. Crystal-clear air makes the snow cover appear to stretch all the way to the horizon. And of course skiing is an option in Iceland. Its mountains are not particularly tall, but they offer wedeling fun all the same. Ski lifts are operated six months out of the year, as in Bláfjöll, the country's largest skiing resort boasting 19 slopes. From an altitude of 2,300 feet, you can enjoy the run down into the valley. And to warm up and rest afterwards, simply take the bus to the Blue Lagoon.
