In 1985 Deuter invented the Aircomfort-System for Backpacks - a milestone in the development of outdoor equipment. Innovation and Technology is the key topic of the OutDoor Fair in 2009. Coffee grounds as ingredience for functional garnments is just one example of the many inventions presented in Friedrichshafen.
Distance recorder in wetsuits and insect bite proof garnments are just two more innventions presentet to the trade visitors.
Inventions are driving the industry. Especially sustainable products and manufacturing processes are in the main focus. The industry knows about its responsibilty. Bernd Kullmann, CEO of Deuter Sport says: "Innovations must make a difference for clients and should not only be seen as a Marketing paraphrase." A heavy burden for the new products presented this year: a jacket which can be transformed into a backpack, underwear which should reduce the risk of injuries, clima-neutral sleepingbags and many more.
