Every fall, movie buffs from all over the world buff to the Banff Centre in the Canadian Rockies. For an entire week, the Banff Mountain Film Festival shows the year's best outdoor and adventure documentaries.
After the festival has wound down, a selection of the films shown kicks off a world tour. From March 19, the Banff Tour hits Germany, offering a unique opportunity to watch the films to all those that were unable to attend the festival in Canada. You will see an exciting blend of outdoor, adventure and mountain culture documentaries.
For instance, this year's bellwether production is entitled "Journey to the Center" - a documentary featuring three BASE jumpers that want to perform the jump of their lives in a depression in the Chinese hinterland. The trip to "Heavenly Pit" is arduous but ultimately the three adrenaline junkies can't help but admit that it was worthwhile, not just because of their singular BASE jump.
The latest movie by kayaker and filmmaker Trip Jennings will also be screened. It is called "The Last Frontier - Papua New Guinea" and shows a group of kayakers that explores Papua New Guinea's Pandi River from its headwaters to where it meets the sea...
