Outdoor sports are trendy and trend-setters. For the 17th time this year, the outdoor sports industry’s leading trade fair presents 868 exhibitors from 39 nations, along with their products. Trends include hiking, climbing and family adventures in the great wide open.

Hiking is the Germans‘ favorite leisure activity. Almost 40 million aficionados tie their hiking boots on a regular basis. Every year, prizes are awarded to the prettiest hiking trails, and equipment manufacturers get on the bandwagon. For more than 40 years, Leki has been producing trekking poles. Best-selling model Makalu, the first telescope trekking pole, was a milestone in the southwest German pole experts‘ history.
Climbing has also experienced an incredible boom. Climbing is on, both indoors and outdoors. Once climbing buffs have some essential training under their belt – offered, for instance, by the German Alpine Club’s chapters – and some quality gear on hand, they’re ready to have fun on the rock face.
The OutDoor trade fair is the industry’s leading fair. This is where trends are presented for the first time. This year, products premiering at the fair include a cold-weather-shoe and a hybrid sandal as well as high-mountain glasses for women, in addition to numerous other novelties.
The trade fair is open from July 15 to 18 to trade visitors only. But fret not – you will be able to take a look at some of the novelties and innovative technology on 4-Seasons.TV before they hit stores.
