Off their rocker is not just what detractors say about trail runners. The runners themselves are ready to admit that not only are the a little crazy, they also don't feel good unless they're of the beaten path. Cross-country running, as they used to call it, will take you across the underbrush, through the mud, and to grand scenic places.

Feel free to do anything you like. Whether it's scaling mountains while losing your breath or simply taking a rest and enjoying some scenery whose peacefulness make it incredible. It's a fact that trail running will take you into areas that are not frequented by hiking parties. Stating where trail running begins or ends is not so simple. Sure, it's off the beaten path, but whether you need a compass to race cross-country or whether mountain runners become trail runners because they rush from valleys to summit is a bone of contention. What is undisputed is trail running is trendy. There are almost no rules. Grip master Stefan Repke sets the following rules for his running mates: Never take more than five steps on tarmac, and if there is no trail, run cross-country. And sometimes it will be painful.
